Slumber

Although relatively subdued for much of its running time, Slumber eventually devolves into a lengthy, over-the-top climax that's both visually and narratively cheesy.

"Slumber" itself feels like it was loosely adapted from a few cursory Google searches.

A promising buildup is eroded by too many rote jump scares, leading to a conventionally hectic and silly climax further undermined by an inappropriately campy, late-arriving performance.

For horror hounds, Slumber may scratch a familiar itch but it ultimately fails to distinguish itself and, like most dreams, quickly fades from memory.
