Small Things Like These

The ending is a little too abrupt for a film put together with such subtlety. Much is left unsaid, but if the script had gone any further, it would have had to embark on a sequel.

I suspect it may be too low-key for people... but it is a film that whispers its story to you and I found it very moving.

A deliberate film that uses small moments to examine one of the great questions of our time: how good people let bad things happen, and how we might push back against the dark.  

It’s a sensitive movie on a worthy subject. In fact, it’s so sensitive and worthy that one is reluctant to mention that there’s little pleasure in watching it.

Small Things Like These is beautifully observed and deftly assembled. It is furious without raising its voice, and heartbreaking without ever resorting to melodrama. This film is an absolute gem, and you'll be happy you saw it.

Ultimately, Bill’s dilemma is our dilemma. Can we stand by and watch crimes being perpetrated by those in a position of power, thinking only of preserving our own skins?
