Spark: A Space Tail

Crappy internationally co-produced animation, ahoy.

It's all amiably silly and definitely an option for half-term.

Surely there is a species of monkey somewhere far, far away who are all banging randomly on typewriters and yet have managed, somehow, to come up with a better script than this derivative piece of space junk.

What, exactly, happened to director Aaron Woodley?

Think Zootopia Goes to Space, but with flatter jokes.

A lot is happening at any given moment, but none of it really stands out, for the right reasons or the wrong ones. If you were the writer of this movie, you might say it lacks a certain... spark of inspiration.

Honestly, this movie was absolutely painful. Not because it was frustratingly terrible, but because of how this was such a wasted opportunity.

Unfortunately the punny title may be the best thing about Spark: A Space Tail.

I was hoping I would enjoy it like I enjoyed Ratchet and Clank (yep, I liked that film). Unfortunately it was not to be.

The humour seems a little lost in translation.
