Did AI write this because it is quite possibly one of the worse films I've watched in ages. It started off promising, beautiful Italian scenery, ending in a dubious 'west country ' house... boo hiss.

See i dont agree on this one with the reviews. The original had its faults but it is real gut punch in the end and left me with a sense of disquiet which sticks with you, a lasting impact. A movie which hits not necessarily the pinnacle of movie making but of an emotional impact. This remake was ok but it just descended to the expectations of a mass audience and left me saying meh, so what. Now having seen the original makes me wonder is my harsher review based on that versus this movie in its own right? Sure but when you here the line “because you let me” in the original there is a visceral realisation of where that movie was going. This version is ok streaming but nothing ill remember beyond next week.

Honestly had my heart pounding in my chest, more thriller than horror but JM is absolutely outstanding

This throws suspense into a whole new gear. James McAvoy really convinces as twisted in this sick tale. Non stop thrills

Good film the dad could’ve done more tho

This falls so short of the original. This was one of those movies where it seemed like Americanizing a story meant dumbing it down, explaining every clue and giving the audience the happy ending it expects. Boo! Hiss! Just watch the original for a real unsettling movie.
