audience Reviews
, 54% Audience Score- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsA witchcraft horror movie that, despite a few twists, ends up being pretty predictable and uneventful. What makes this film watchable is the sheer talent of Omari Hardwick and a couple of other actors who delivered strong performances. Whether it's Mark Tonderai's direction or the actors skills, they add some much-needed depth to the story. However, the ending is quite the letdown and detracts significantly from the overall experience. If the conclusion had been more satisfying, it could have easily bumped the rating by half a star or an entire star. While it has its moments, don't expect to be on the edge of your seat the whole time for this one.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsNot bad, entertaining but predictible. The movie feels more like a Tales From The Crypt episode, which is not bad but nothing special at all.
- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsIts got enough about it to watch … if you like a tense pace rather than a decent back story and great ending … tapers off toward the end but we enjoyed most of the film.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsKnock-off version of Misery. Cliché characters, thin script, gaps in the plot. Some nice camera work.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsNothing earth shattering here, but a good popcorn flick, with a by the book storyline and plenty gore. Definitely worth a watch, but if you like your horror with a bit more depth, then hit the skip button.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsIf Misery and Skeleton Key had a baby, it’d be this movie. It has some frustrating decisions made by the main character that seem like poor writing choices at times, but as long as you don’t expect it to be the greatest movie ever it’s overall an entertaining watch.
- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsThis movie started off with promise, but it quickly reduced to a Hoodoo styled Misery. The entire mood of the movie stagnated and remained so until the cliche ending.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsAn excellent movie all around. Not sure why this doesn't have better reviews, should be at least 4 stars. Good/interesting plot, good acting, country voodoo, what's not to like?
