Splice

Now this the very definition of a devisive cult movie. Is it disturbing? Yes. Is it weird? Absolutely. Is it to my taste a great movie that takes risks but is superbly well made? Yes. This extremely well acted, challenging sci-fi horror explores some very interesting philosophical and moral ground whilst simulaneously being hugely entertaining with superb special effects. It certainly won't appeal to everyone given the subject matter, especially as the movie progresses into its final phase but personally I really enjoyed my time with this one.

It's pretty disturbing, but in a way that forces you to think about the ethics of certain practices that may not be too far from reality. And then it just becomes really disturbing.

I was pleasantly surprised. Weird, messed up but well worth a watch.

Super weird and different.

Once hallmark of poor writing is when any character can speak any line. In Splice the husband and wife team take turns being concerned, ambitious, loving their creation.

It's interesting and thought provoking but there are too many plot concerns where these supposedly brilliant scientists should have been able to anticipate the dangers that come to fruition. Better writers could have made this a classic.

This movie is obviously very high quality production and interesting story along the likes of ex machina. The mannerisms of the hybrid were very well acted and more believable than any other horror movie. The negative reviews for this one are actually positive because people were seriously disturbed and rattled by this movie. That's kinda the point.

Scientist creates monsters, monsters go bad, and we got a decent scfy horror flick that is just fine to pass the time.
