A light, witty, and cleverly chaotic film. She’s Funny That Way delivers a screwball-style romantic comedy with sharp dialogue, great performances — especially from Imogen Poots and Owen Wilson — and a fun narrative that plays with coincidences and unlikely encounters. Perfect for a couple’s movie night, the film charms with its lightness and nostalgic homage to the genre. A pleasant surprise.

One of the worst movies I've ever seen the live action snow white should win an Oscar compared to this hot trash.

It's basically wonderful, a throw back to a friendly happier time. Something to enjoy --NOT cringe about.

Why? Why? Why? I was so looking forward to.this movie… until i heard that God-awful excuse for a NY accent. There are thousands of authentic young NY actresses who would not only sound better…but do a better job acting. As a native NYer I had to turn it off as soon as I heard her…revolting!

Wow, what a rough, hard to please under appreciating bunch of reviewers with little to zero sense of humor. I LOVED this film. I initially thought it was written by Woody Allen because it felt that way. What a great film for Bogdonovich to go out on and what a treat to see Cybil Shepherd, one his earliest actresses in it. I’m glad Owen Wilson got the role because John Ritter unfortunately had passed away. I laughed out loud several times and appreciated the funny performances and pretty ladies. Highly recommend!

I got it that this was an homage to classic RomComs of the 1950s and there were many cameos (Quentin Tarantino - though he really doesn't strike me as a good actor), but the dumbness of the judge and the histrionics of the ersatz psychologist played by Jennifer Aniston were grating. Also, there was little or no emotional connection made with the protagonists or the whole story. That said, it was a pleasant enough movie.

What makes over-the-top slapstick films work is when you still buy them in some way. I didn't buy any of this and it was kind of cheesy with cringy writing moments. I mean, "I think happiest girls are the prettiest girls...", spoke by the lead female character? Owen Wilson basically plays the same character in almost every film he's in. Imogen Poots' Brooklyn accent is just way too over the top so that it doesn't even seem real. I just kept wondering where she was actually from. Something about this feels like some sort of 1950's NYC Hollywood fantasy mixed with with the 21st century in terms of the characters. There was some stellar acting and comedy from Jennifer Anderson, Austin Pendleton, Will Forte, and Lucy Punch. The scenes with them were hysterical and sheer pleasure to watch. They were the saving grace of this film for me.

EVERY movie Owen Wilson is in, he ACTS the same (like an idiot) and i just can't watch him anymore. he makes me want to punch him in the face so he'll shut up BUT, this is the first time i've seen Imogen Poots in a movie and she's a 'really' good, natural actress.
