STAND MY ME is a masterful 80s classic that celebrates the joys of childhood---friendship, discovery, adventure, self-realization---while also embracing the sorrows attendant with "coming of age" in a conflicted world. It's charming and deeply resonant, neither avoiding nor fixating on the challenging home lives that have shaped each boys' outlook and commitment to the necessity of their shared hero's journey.

Nostalgic film about frienship that just doesn't gel old

I don't know what it is about these 80s classics, but they are just so dang good bro. Such a fantastic film. A very simple concept that works really well on the screen. I think I also really like how real it is. Like at times it just felt like I was watching a vlog on YouTube. Amazing!

One of my favourite movies of all time and an absolute classic! This movie has an entertaining plot, well built characters and though-provoking themes. The acting is magnificent and it is a beautiful film that captures the meaning of friendship through the precious friendship of four 13 year old boys. A great coming of age film that I would encourage everyone to see!

Child actors can make or break a film like this. Fortunately, they make it.
