Generic story over the backdrop of the mafia. I think that’s dope. I like the cast and it’s a hell of a lot of fun. 4/5 stars.

Pleasurable to watch with an unstoppable cast. Surely, expected ending with no intrigue. However, the movie had a touching meaning about family and friendship and it made me shed a tear on the scene with Alex.

Pacino and Walken are good, heck, they are legendary actors. The problem is, little else is good here. The script is kindergarten. I'm just curious what motivated either star to take the role. Maybe money, maybe they just wanted to work together. You can sit through the whole thing, has some entertainment value, but it never really teaches good proportion at anytime.

The cringe shifts into high gear fairly quickly and when combined with glacial storytelling and you will be left shifting uncomfortably in your seat from both.

Loved it. I was able to let my imagination go in so many of the scenes, filling in gaps for myself, building the characters out as I see them, based on hints dropped during the course of the movie. These star critics must lighten up. Sometimes you must watch a movie with an open mind, watch it for the wonderful moments between characters, watch it for the sake of entertaining your own imagination. Sometimes you must just have an open mind and let the story take you. Not so fresh but a definite must see.

This movie is a guilty pleasure of mine. I see it has mixed reviews but I just love it. Great cast. Great story. Love the ending.

F*ck Rotten Tomatoes. This is a great movie if you have a sentimental bone in your body.

How could any movie with Christopher Walken and Al Pacino be bad? I loved the characters and the story

Some undeserved poor reviews by harsh critics. Very entertaining. Excellent acting! We both gave thumbs up.

Seems like many of the "top" reviewers who panned this movie never had a lifelong friend, never made a commitment, never took too many random drugs, and definitely do not understand subtle humor. Like some reviewers, I felt great getting to hang with a cast with time in grade. While it may not have been over the top in any category, Stand Up Guys made me chuckle a few times and kept me watching to the Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid ending. It was a fun hour and a half.
