Sting
audience Reviews
, 63% Audience Score- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsI knew nothing about this film when I started watching it. I think the trailer would have ruined it. This is the best spider movie that I’ve ever seen, beating Arachnophobia (1990). Sting does lean much more into the horror than the comedy but the comedy is subtly present nonetheless. The family in the film feel like a real family which is a testament to how well written, cast, acted and directed this film is. The film is charming, well paced and engaging with a great sense of style. I suppose my only two gripes are the opening scene that is not chronological for no real reason and some of the spider CGI is less than perfect but these are both really minor critiques in what is an excellent spider horror with non-distracting comedy.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsPlease don’t make this into a sequel, I know that the eggs at the end of the movie indicate a Sting 2 but it was absolutely dog, don’t waste your time😅 The most boring, slow and predictable movie that I have ever watched! Strongly don’t recommend.
- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsIn a year that has been really strong for the horror genre, I almost forgot "Sting" also came out in 2024. I watched this movie hoping it would be a silly and fun ride, but I mostly found it forgettable. It has some creepy moments and campy vibes that are sometimes enjoyable, but it is ultimately a lot of buildup for minimum payoff. I think the movie just fails to stand out in the monster horror genre and I can't see why I would suggest genre fans rush and see it. Overall, there is some goofy fun to be had here, but I don't think there is enough for me to fully recommend it, especially in a year where horror has been so good.
- Rating: 1.5 out of 5 starsMaybe I'm delusional but I honestly think I could kill Sting with ease, also fuck that girl for watching a spider kill bugs for a hobby, whatever happened to hopscotch?
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsThis has a classic 90's teenage horror vibe. There's a lot of swearing and blood for that genre but I think a 15 year old is probably going to be the target audience for this type of movie, and that's not a bad thing. The character development and plot take precedent over the horror, it's almost light hearted as a result. I actually quite enjoyed it and the ending left it open for a sequel which I'm actually excited to watch if it ever gets made. I would put it in the same bracket as films like Graboids. Maybe a bit more action would have pushed this up to a five star but I guess we'll see what the sequel brings
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsSting was fun and pretty well done. There was humor in some of the kills and gore sprinkled throughout that really made it work. The story worked and I enjoyed the build at the beginning unlike some other viewers. Definitely going to rewatch in the future!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI really enjoyed this movie.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsSting - i had to rewind it, all, the, way, to, the beginning. it has a quirky swedish quality; humorous, dark. Loove Greta. Still read some of me book b.utt. "it is your fault". My kinda filum 3.11.24 7.6/0
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsIt's better than average for a creepy spider movie. Nothing special about any of the cast, the story is quite simple when you work out that the spider did indeed come from a comet, bizarrely enough, and the annoying twelve year old girl who’s plastered in make up and getting a bit awkwardly close to her father - albeit not her real one I think - was a little eye brow raising yukky. But, the jump sort of scares and thrills and the special effects worked, there is tension perhaps not enough of it and there’s elements of realism (until the spider starts whistling and stuff) so therefore the movie is a fraction better than it’s rated, better than many other movies on Netflix that are over hyped, and well, I chose this on Halloween because it stood out in comparison so that would tell you enough. Would you watch this once? Yeah, there again you’re not going to watch a horror sort of movie more than once anyway. So unfairly trashed but due to the range of acting which is weak and other things I’ve rated this as fair as I will allow myself.
- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsIt's fun for what it is. I felt they knew it wasn't the best movie but had fun with it. My major massive flaw with this movie is they spend 1 hour and 30 minutes just crapping on the step dad the whole movie for no sort of character development in the film. I feel like they stereotype one of the characters in this movie to the point of it being cringe. Personally fun film with massive flaws.
