Strange Way of Life

The aesthetics, color palette, perfect framing, and composition tell you it's Almodovar's work! The two actors were good. There is something on their clean accent that put me off a bit. However it’s a delight on the eyes to see those men together!

Short film that is not innovative in its history and tells something that has already been seen in cinemas. The difference is that the director is Pedro Almodóvar and while few people get it right in films lasting more than an hour about telling a possible strange form of life, he gets it right in half an hour...

WHY WAS THIS A SHORT??? I loved everything about it - the score, the costumes, the cinematography, the acting. This was tense and passionate, and Ethan Hawke and Pedro Pascal really balanced each other out. I just wish there was more of it; I would have really liked to see the story between the characters unfold more, and the end felt more like we were at the end of a first act. Should I deduct points???

What to say about this short film... I like the score I guess, solid compositions. Ethan Hawke was over the top, especially his growling voice the whole time. I think Pedro Pascal was solid though, easily out-shining Hawke. Ultimately the story lacks profundity and verges on quaint, even given its relevant themes.

An interesting postmodern Western.

If you enjoyed Brokeback Mountain, you'll likely enjoy this. Not my kind of story.

Pedro Pascal just ruined the move, where did he learn not to act?

A short film with Ethan Hawke and Pedro Pascal in a film from the mind of Pedro Almodóvar. What is here is really good, but it ends abruptly which left me wanting more. There is a lot packed into this 30 minutes and every word is heightened. It is beautiful to see even if it feels incomplete. Final Score: 7/10

Great acting and western atmosphere.

It gets your attention, and pulls you in somewhat, but in the end, goes nowhere. Could not sit thru that again.
