Deadly secrets are spilled with the lackadaisical plop of a daytime soap.

Like The Room in the sun, the bar it sets for itself is so outrageously low (just get to the end credits!) that it effortlessly clears it and, along the way, provides some bizarrely compelling, laugh-out-loud, guilty pleasure antics.

Once you get to the big reveal, you feel like you’ve sat through a hundred episodes of a saucy daytime soap with the saucy bits cut out.

Watched in the right spirit, with appropriate libations, it could prove quite entertaining … if not in the way presumably intended.

This is high calibre cheese, a riotous collision of camp cliches so ridiculous that it may earn cult classic status.

Strictly Confidential looks like a parody of a bad movie, but it’s unfortunately no joke. This horrendous drama, which has a tawdry plot about privileged people with sordid secrets, is a time-wasting failure for everyone involved.

Potential Oedipal issues aside, Damian Hurley's debut feature is a dismal, suspense-free thriller, full of vapid characters spouting inane dialogue.

It's watchable but certainly not exceptional, though its attractive cast and stunning Saint Kitts and Nevis location might be enough to lure audiences in for an easy view.

A clunky, convoluted and preposterous mess with enough unintentional laughs to make it a guilty pleasure. Strictly Confidential is like an erotic version of Knives Out without the comedy, suspense or Benoit Blanc.
