Supercell
audience Reviews
, 74% Audience Score- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsIt’s no Twister or Twisters, but Supercell is a decent adventure film with a solid cast. My main criticisms are that it takes too long to show the visual storm effects and has a rather pedestrian musical score. Also, I’m not sure what Alec Baldwin was doing in this film; he’s miscast and his accent doesn’t work. The rest of the cast, including the late and great Anne Heche, do a good job of selling the material.
- Rating: 1.5 out of 5 starsNope … over the top dramatic and tired story lines. the music director needs to understand not every scene is a massive orchestra crescendo 😂
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsI found the movie "Supercell" to be a well-executed film that may not reach the heights of a four or five-star rating, but certainly doesn't fall into the category of a low-quality film. It offers an enjoyable viewing experience that keeps you engaged from start to finish, particularly with its tornadoes and unexpected twists that add excitement to the story. The connection between the son and the father, with the father striving to impress his family, brings a heartfelt element to the film that resonates with audiences. The dynamics portrayed on screen, along with the eagerness for familial approval, make for engaging and relatable storytelling. The portrayal of the mother, played by Miss Ann Hetch, may come across as a bit peculiar and reminiscent of a drug addict, which can be distracting. However, this seems to be a recurring trait in her performances across different films. Despite any minor issues, overall, I found "Supercell" to be an enjoyable movie. Skeet Ulrich's performance as the uncle adds depth to the story, showcasing his talent as an actor. I would recommend giving this film a chance and seeing how it resonates with you, as it offers a compelling and entertaining viewing experience.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsWhat the? Just awful. Bad acting, half pie story, strange plot, things that don't make sense and you do NOT EVER hide in a pool from a tornado. Ever. Period. The score does not make sense. The stormchasing does not make sense. The weird "scientific radio device" does not make sense. You can see the studio lights that are making "lightning" reflected in the glasses of the actor! Some nice storm videos though.. and a good lesson about avoiding the core of a supercell and the peril of big hail. But just awful.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsBest thing I have seen this year- mash-up of Top Boy and Misfits with sympathetic main characters with real world problems, compelling plot and believable dialogue. Can’t wait for Series 2!!!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsSeeing Twisters tonight made me appreciate this film way more. Better characters and more heart.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsSo good! Excited for Twisters this weekend, but this comes in as a close second behind the original Twister. In some ways, it's better.
