The Abandon

I thought this movie was quite good! Very smart.. loved how Miles and Damsey got to see each other...that almost made up for the ending that wasn't an ending. So many different ways this could've went instead of what happened..which basically had nothing to do with the movie .. unless you surmise that implied aliens: alien ship was annihilated..even tho they were warned we stand together when threatened. Impressive acting.

The actings good, but I'd like to have seen who or what "They" were sometime during the movie, or the aircraft "They" were flying in at movie's end. The actors talking on their phones touching their hands against the wall as the ending's payoff did not make this movie worth watching.

Not sure how this movie got any 5 star reviews. And the ending is HORRIBLE.

Sorry I believed the reviews! Fascinating concept. Unfortunately the execution left a lot to desire. Plodding, tedious unimaginative. My regret is I stayed to the unsatisfactory conclusion. The actors failed to connect and by the end didn't really care what happened to them. What the hell was that ending supposed to be anyway? Don't waste your time on this movie unless you enjoy watching paint dry or waiting in line at the DMV...

I don't understand the high ratings, I think there is a lot of trolling involved. It could not have been any worse. If I was the director of the movie, I would be embarrassed to add it to my credentials.

Una buena película, si bien, probablemente sepas de que trata todo muchísimo antes que los protagonistas (lo cuál puede ser un poco exasperante) aún así la narrativa se construye en un clima de suspenso e intriga, lo cuál es muy bien trasladado hasta el ultimo segundo de la película (literalmente) cabe destacar también la música y los efectos de sonido que acompañan a la perfección cada escena. Pero lo verdaderamente interesante de esta película es la increíble actuación de su protagonista aconpañada muy inteligentemente con los juegos de dirección de un experimentado cineasta cómo lo es quien dirige esta particular película de ciencia ficción dónde sabemos hacia dónde va, pero aún así ansiamos saber cómo termina la historia.

2022's ' The Abandon' feels like the illicit love child of 'The Cube's franchise. But without being that good. SYNOPSIS: 'A wounded soldier awakens in a strange cube that tests his physical and mental limits as he attempts to find a way to escape against a ticking clock.' Where 'The Cube' franchise has its gore element 'The Abandon' really doesn't venture that far and never really feels like it finds another level. It has potential and a solid hook, but never manages to evolve beyond it to truly sustain the thrills until the final credits. And even that's an anticlimax really. What begins as potentially a tense thriller evolves a claustrophobic disappointment. It's just so clumsy and poorly written you can definitely give this a miss 4/10

Its a poor man's Cube with one trap, if you could even call it that. Waste of time

*CAUTION - CONTAINS MINOR SPOILER* .... ... .. . I liked the movie, 'Telephone Booth' more than this...I think there was probably more action as well. The trailer shows some action scenes, but that happens only the first 10 minutes of the movie, the rest of the time, he spends talking on the 'radio', 'satellite phone', 'cell phone' to a woman who is in a cubed room just as he is. They keep seeing things written on the wall - only to realize they were doing it, and the other could see. I still don't understand how he was is 1991 and she was in 2020 but the changes she made to the wall showed up in his time? Don't try to think too hard, this movie isn't worth the brain power! RECOMMENDATION: SKIP IT!
