The Adventurer: The Curse of the Midas Box
audience Reviews
, 59% Audience Score- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsThis movie is a fun adventure. The actors put a lot into characters. It has a sweeping fun theme. The Captain Will is so well done, the whole movie is carried by him alone. I think the critics were much too hard on a fun adventure with good scenery, production, and acting. It's sad critics may have cost this movie it's sequel. It would have been so fun to see Captain Will come back with the actor who played him.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsBristling with acting talent, but they are utterly powerless against this relentlessly schlocky script, which was not so much typed as wiped onto several yards of toilet paper. Probably single-ply.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsFilme muito fraco. Um total disperdicio de tempo.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars3.5 stars; Probably should be a 3 star rating. But watching a 10 year old 'Indiana Jones' style movie, that doesn't rely on special effects and clever gags to get you through to the end, was quite enjoyable. I guess this was supposed to be a Series that never got off the ground.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsI found the movie to be charming, is it a bit cheesy? Of course! But it has an easy to follow plot, a fabulous cast, and a great plot twist at the end in extended scenes! Also very family friendly!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsI do not understand the bad reviews, above all with all the dull and cliché family movies in the market, some studios seem to make the same movie again and again. This is a great adventure movie in the style of Indiana Jones or The Mummy. There is mystery, quest, and darkness. The characters have to prove their wit and courage to fight evil and the movie is beautifully done. I would have liked to see more of the family relation and the complexity of the characters, however this movie is in the line of a first adventure saga episode and I guess this is shown in future movies. There are complex machines, interesting costumes, ancient artifacts, choices to do to make you use your brain and comment while seeing the film! It would be great to have a family series and be able to see this world of punk steam, archaeology, history, mysteries, and courage facing adversity (precisely now!) fully developed.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsI don’t really know what made people give this a poor review - all in all I thought it was a really capturing movie with good actors and the setting was very cool. Some aspects were cheesy or did not make that much sense but it is a kids/family movie and the majority of the movie should hold the attention of the audience quite well
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsWe’re some of these people watching the same film as me? I loved it. Thorough entertainment, well directed, gorgeous sets and cinematography and great cast. What’s not to like!? I hope they make a second one.
