, 84% Audience Score- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars2024: The Year of Sebastian Stan. His constant transformation throughout the film is remarkable. For me, his performance is one of the most outstanding of the year. When it comes to acting, I must also mention Jeremy Strong, whose portrayal is simply flawless. Hopefully, he secures at least a nomination. Although the film clearly reflects a specific political stance, it masterfully balances this with top-notch production that transports the audience to the America of that era. The attention to detail in production design, costumes, and settings not only enriches the narrative but also emphasizes the controversy of the central theme: the portrayal of one of the most divisive figures in recent history. A daring and provocative storyline that leaves no one indifferent.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsThis is a good review to read if you want to read someone’s opinion who: A. Doesn’t worship Trump at all B. Didn’t go into this movie trying to hate it I really loved this movie. I almost couldn’t believe how good it was - even if it was about a fictional person, which it’s obviously not, it was objectively an enjoyable, really brilliant movie. They turned 70/80s NY and his life into such a spectacular and beautiful world. The actor showed Trump’s character development in a remarkable way going from being an unrecognizable character at the beginning to a VERY recognizable character at the end of the movie as he morphed into Donald Trump. It’s a fascinating story, one I personally knew way too little of. He’s a modern day conquerer in the internet era and it’s a one of a kind story in human history. His family stuff was very interesting as well. This is a movie a week later I’m still thinking about. 97/100
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsOne of the worst films I have seen in a long time. I was expecting a satire regarding the felon who occupies the White House, what I got was a dull biopic. Of course the a major problem is the casting of the talentless Jeremy Strong in a pivotal role, living proof that 'The Method' cannot turn a bad actor into a good one. Avoid like the plague.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsUnacceptable movie!!! I hate Donald Trump
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsGreat performances. Loved this movie.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsTerrible movie. Terrible. Worst movie ever made — and I’ve seen some bad ones. Fake actor, fake story, fake everything. No winning, no success, just angry people pretending they understand greatness. They didn’t show the real accomplishments — economy, border, world respect. No gold, no Trump Tower, not even the escalator! If they let me direct it, would’ve been a masterpiece. But Hollywood can’t handle the truth. Sad!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsExcellent performances by Sebastian Stan and Jeremy Strong. It's dark, it's funny, and it's interesting. The movie is almost 2hrs long but it doesn't get boring. Stan is also convincing as Trump.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsOne of the best films of the year I’m glad this got released and didn’t get blocked from being in the theaters. This is a definite must watch, especially if you want to understand our current President for better or for worse.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsTerrible movie. Seemed like a bunch of skits poorly pieced together from some storiews heard from anonymous sources. Made no effort to actually portray Trump as an interesting person. Or as a human being. Made no effort to develop the character. Show the good along with the bad. Or portray him as a man with many layers. The movie was completely overrated. Mostly Hollywood garbage. Exactly what people expected A fictional Hitjob portrayal. They basically show every bad story that was ever mentioned by *anonymous* sources. In a series of fictional skits. Trying to Influence and interfere with an election. Hollywood Elite collusion at its best. Strong was pretty good as Cohn. Even kind of looked like him. Only reason it got 1 star. Stan was totally unconvincing as Trump. Looked and acted nothing like Trump. Way overrated. Terrible movie. Save your time. Ask yourself. What the hell does an Iranian Danish Director really know about America and Donald Trump??
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsSebastian Stan delivers a chillingly accurate portrayal of Donald Trump in The Apprentice, a biopic that smartly avoids hagiography or melodrama. Instead, it offers a sharp dissection of power, corruption, and the birth of a public persona we all know too well. Jeremy Strong is remarkable as Roy Cohn, nuanced, haunting, and fully immersed in a role that’s easy to vilify but hard to truly understand. The film's pacing never lags, and its emotional complexity elevates it far beyond political caricature.
