This is supposed to be a comedy? Not at all what we were expecting. Even though I like dark comedies there was nothing funny about this movie and when an innocent little dog gets murdered we turned it off.

TAOSD was interesting and had some truly lol moments and some truly wtf moments. For me, it was somewhere between Napoleon, Dynamite, and Kill Bill. It's an interesting movie, and I'd recommend it.

Best movie I have seen in awhile and not only the acting was Greatly done and the story itself just keeps the viewers to wanting to see what will happen next. Probably inconsiderably one of the best films ever created in the film industry

Easily one of the most underrated movies of 2019. It's a very dry dark comedy about social isolation and toxic masculinity with the bizarre dark underbelly of martial arts classes. Jesse Eisenberg nails it as the most timid man in existence and you buy his eventual growth into a tougher, but still bumbling part of the karate crew. His chemistry with the dojo leader is great and you buy their friendship before the great dark twist of reveals and changes the entire context and perspective of the narrative and their relationships. Which is also solved brilliantly in the climax that feels cleverly earned, but not too ridiculous. It's not bust-out loud funny or exciting, but its not aiming for that in the first place (though the custom karate belts & Walmart gun purchase scenes had me laughing hard). Just a quirky slice of life movie that takes a dark twist on the typical "self-actualization through friendship" story mechanic halfway through.

75/100 - its such an odd movie but this dark comedy is worth watching.

The funniest movie I've ever seen, if you're a fan of dark dry humor then I can not recommend this movie enough, kinda slow and predictable at points but when the jokes land, they land really hard, I've never laughed so hard at a movie and I've watched a LOT of movies 10/10. That said, if you don't like movies like Napoleon Dynamite, or have an aversion to absurd violence then I wouldn't recommend. This movie is very much an acquired taste, but it gets better with every watch.

The cities under Democratic Party politicians are simply lawless: tens of thousands of Americans are either murdered or assaulted by criminals who are being loved by those left politicians.

I get the impression of what some view as masculinity in this film but I just didn't enjoy the storyline.

Like most dark comedies, this was a very clever commentary on society. Unlike most movies that look at toxic masculinity, this one seems to understand it. This movie is underrated by the audience most likely because it was a comedy. The Power of the Dog was a very similar movie, but is a drama, and was rated a lot higher. They're essentially the same movie, though.
