The Catcher Was a Spy

A little known story that deserves to be known, good acting from Paul Rudd and the cast of characters, don't expect a thrill a minute, this is a more muted thriller. I enjoyed it very much.

I don't understand all the negative reviews. The lighting, and cinamotography were great... No it wasn't a "thriller", but it did inform me of a historical situation I knew nothing of. The ending was the clincher.

It was great. There was an air of mystery to the whole thing that captured this unusual story well, especially Berg's secretive nature. I don't understand the negative reviews. What did people expect, a James Bond with all the action? That would have made no sense.

I found it to be a really entertaining character study. Highly entertaining and very underrated.

Excellent story which should be more widely known than it is. Paul Rudd does a phenomenal job. The commitment to speaking in different languages, the scenery, the costumes, it is all just great. The writing is wonderful.

I thought was a fantastic film and well done Paul Rudd did a fantastic job. Love it watch over an over again. Just one thing, I wish it was a bit longer.

It was ok overall and had some interesting suspense moments, but not terribly exciting overall considering it had a great cast and was based on a true story of the life of Moe Berg.

I don't know why this hasn't a higher rating. I thought that it was one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. The characters were believable, the photography was excellent, the war fighting scenes were very well done, and it was suspenseful when it needed to be. But if you're expecting the true life story to be turned into the standardized Jason Bourne over the top type of spectacle, this isn't going to be for you.

Not as interesting as it sounds but an okay story, if true, though how good of a legit spy could he have been if this is all true?
