The Corpse of Anna Fritz
audience Reviews
, 40% Audience Score- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsI like that this here movie does try to attempt to bring something new to the table and did the idea of a seemingly not dead corpse haunting other people who mess with her body in inhumane manors far better than 2008s Dead Girl but it suffers from the fact that we do not know what happened next after the movie ended, leaving so many unanswered questions like What happened to Anne Fritz after they left did she die for real or was she figured out by the crew at the morgue and is properly treated or did the lads get found out did they get commupince for their actions so this is a solid 3 and a halve
- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsAt a short 75 mins. run time, ‘The Corpse of Anna Fritz' still feels too long due to the extremely thin screenplay. What's happened here is the writers have come up with a disturbing base idea involving necrophilia and then tried to coast the whole way to the end of the film on the initial shock value alone, neglecting to flesh it out so that it has something to say, or perhaps simply not daring to push the envelope far enough. The result is something that falls right into a lot of cliché and predictable thriller/horror traps, but it has to be said that for a low-budget b-movie, it's an admirable effort that has a couple of things going for it, including just enough tense moments to keep it from being boring.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsOne of a kind. I had the pleasure to watch the film on Shudder early 2019.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsI just don't like the ending. She already made it, managed to kill them both why do she have to kill herself too? Brutal ending!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsA good movie. Thank god justice prevailed in the end bc it was a harrowing journey on the way there. The ending was abrupt especially considering how much detail went into everything else. The story was great and execution well too.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsStrong start, tense mid, cut and dry end
- Rating: 1.5 out of 5 starslack of any redeeming qualities.
- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsMaking a film about necrophilia is pretty gutsy and makes for a pretty unsettling atmosphere. Saying anything more than that about the plot would already spoil way too much. The film is short and on point, aware that you can't drag out the premise for too long. There are some decent moments of suspense but in the end things go down rather predictably after the early shock. Still, entertaining enough.
