Nota: 4
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsThis has got to be the worst remake of a beloved IP I have ever seen. First thing, you make the protagonist and made them drug addicts. This is completely opposite of the original characters. And, this was so unnecessary for the telling of the story. The movie had no heart at all. It was nothing but violence. The original was such a great story with true feeling and morals. This movie isn't even worth wiping my ass with.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsAs a reimagining or reboot of the original, Brandon Lee films, to say that it falls flat is a complete understatement. The music, the pacing, the fight choreography, and the larger than life memorable characters made the original an engaging and rewatchable movie. This movie has none of that. This movie opens with the scene seemingly inspired by the darkest moment of the “Neverending Story” in a ham fisted attempt to endear us to the main character. The story plods along for what seems like ages only to jerk ahead suddenly then slow back down. Fight scenes, like the storytelling is drawn out and clunky serving less to propel the story than to provide “Mortal Combat” style gore and fatalities for a cascade of NPCs. The climax mirrors Patrick Swayze’s “Ghost” while withholding any sense of closure. I suspect the lead actors could have performed much better but were throttled by the script and direction.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsI have never seen the original. My friend had though and wanted us to watch this reimagining. He said it is not really a reboot because I just has such a different take. Nonetheless, he and I loved this rendition. Nice brutal action. A believable love story. Though, it took up a bit too much time, but we guessed it was to make us sympathize with the protagonists more. I would generally agree with the critique of pacing issues for this movie. But overall a very entertaining watch. I don't get the hate, but then again I don't know the original nor the source material.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsThis movie is an insult to the original as it tramples on nearly everything that movie did right. Even viewing it as a standalone with no connection to the original it is an absolute failure.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starswatched it in a preview and it was so bad, the cinema was filled with laughter..by the middle of the movie half the viewers had already left. whoever wrote this should do a twilight remake.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsAfter a totally incomprehensible beginning (where are they? A rehab center that mixes men and women, treating them like prisoners in cells with electronic bracelets?), it becomes clear that this film has almost nothing to do with the comic. First of all, it takes 40 minutes for Shelly and Eric to die — and in circumstances completely unrelated to the source material. Eric doesn’t even get his powers until 1h15 in! That doesn’t leave much for a 1h40 movie (well, technically 1h50, but the end credits are ten minutes long). They also left out Sherri (renamed Sarah in the 1994 film), who’s a key character. And this isn’t even a revenge story — Eric is chosen to hunt down humans who’ve gained eternal life by making a pact with the Devil. So yes, the spirit of The Crow is there, but not the essence of the comic. This is the 6th adaptation (five films and a series), and the 5th flop. Aside from the 1994 movie, every attempt has failed. At some point, you just have to stop trying.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI can confidently say that "The Crow" is a fantastic movie. The acting is excellent, and the storyline is captivating. I truly love it!
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsReally dont get all the 1 star reviews for this yeah its not a great movie but its a very good one. Skarsgaard is excellent and just looks so good in the role, the visual style they use is nice, the story had some really interesting beats such as sacrificing your soul for another and hell aspect, the opera sequence was amazingly dark and brutal. The film did take its time to get to where it needed to be but I appreciated the journey. It was slow at times and some of the dialogue was so bad and the girls acting was off abit in moments but they had great chemistry and he made a brilliant Crow in my opinion.
