The Curse of La Patasola
audience Reviews
, 48% Audience Score- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsJaysus H. Krispies this one smells worse than the supposed catfish they catch during the all-too-dull build up. Dislikable characters all around (you'll end up rooting for the cgi hag thingy) and a plot that could be better put together by a grade schooler. It is...BAD.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsI'm Colombian and grew up hearing the tails of the patasola. I was super excited about the movie because she truly is a horrific character. This movie was such a huge disappointment. From the beginning scene when they're having that ridiculous argument to the rest of the movie which was generic bad horror. Just a waste of time. They should have probably consulted with somebody who actually knew about the tale.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsBetter than expected. Great atmosphere and story for a low budget horror movie. Acting was good, monster reveal was a bit hokey but the story made up for it
- Rating: 1.5 out of 5 starsA plot without purpose and an end with no meaning.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsOk so the 1st thing you need to do if you are going to subject yourself to this movie is fast forward thru the 1st hour (at least). The Patasola - um - well it looked good for a little while during the end of the movie until you get a long shot and then wow. It was SO BAD! The deformed lump looked like a bad attempt a child made at a clay figure. The script needed help - a lot of help. If you have 2 hours of your life you want to waste then be my guest. I would PASS on this one!!!!!
- Rating: 1.5 out of 5 starsAJ Jones first directorial event shows a knack of competency and his camera placement (with the cinematographer) is adequate. His acting is atrocious. A terrible screenplay/story along with characters that are not engaging with with their negative attitudes with the world and themselves lend to a bore fest. The action/scares are not any good either. All in all, don't view this crapper unless you have time to waste.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsA well made film in a beautiful, yet eerie, location. The soundtrack was perfect and captured the mood throughout the film. The leads were very convincing in their roles and I'm looking forward to their next projects!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsI especially liked the character development and final reveal of the monster. Great combination of practical monster making and VFX. Def. worth a watch.
