The Djinn

This boy sure has the balls to summon the Djinn and endure the painful non-friendly visit that awaits him. The movie is filled with action and on some moments, it is quite tense. The movie has a lot of room for improvement though, I'd have loved it way more if it kept me on edge throughout the whole watch. I recommend it, it's a good watch and it feels like an indie-made movie.

Are we watching the same movie ? This was like a really bad, long episode of Stranger Things. The acting was terrible, the plot was awful, and the entire movie took place in an apartment. They just went room to room hiding. And the soundtrack was so bad. Like really bad. Such a cheap reach.

Good movie. The whole movie takes place inside a small apartment but the director uses it to his advantage and it doesn’t feel like it subtracts from the film. There are times when you as the viewer feel cramped and claustrophobic but that’s a good thing. Good horror movie with a standout performance from the lead actor

Simple story, but effectively delivered through efficient storytelling and a solid performance by the lead actor. While scarce in backstory due to minimal dialogue (naturally) and limited run time, the movie is still able to establish its main character and move at a healthy pace by dropping in only the most important details. The lack of dialogue also eliminates the unnecessary, often god-awful, exposition plaguing modern horror films and obligates the audience to fill in the gaps — which makes an otherwise familiar story with well-known elements a satisfying watch.

Be careful what you wish for.

Very well-crafted and an engaging performance from the lead actor! However, it does fall to the indie-horror weakness of filler shots that slow the action.

Okay movie. If youve seen any horror movie then you've seen this. Nothing fresh or original in this movie. It drags and takes forever for something to start happening. Predictable, low budget but still isnt as bad as other movies I've seen. Its not THAT bad but its not good either.

This is low budget, unscary, cliched and ridiculous. I mean 'the book of shadows' puleease. Why is his asthma a part of the story? There's no logical reason. Why doesn't he leave the house instead of running around inside it and hiding? Because there would be no movie if he did. Yet another movie with high rating on rotten tomatoes that I just didn't want to waste my time finishing.

Excellent low-budget horror movie. Very well produced.

Thank you A24 and Ezra for this amazing little beast of a horror film proving a great film can be made for very little. I loved it. 10/10 stars
