Fairly decent flick albeit a bit shallow. It should be pointed out that the lack of sponsorship for Shields was not due to her being a woman or her being black but a product of a system that only rewards the most popular. Every weightlifter, wrestler, and most boxers go through the same things. Male or female, black or white.

Clarissa Shields’ journey ignites the screen in The Fire Inside — a raw, relentless, and inspiring masterpiece. This isn’t just a boxing movie; it’s a powerful story of grit, resilience, and unbreakable spirit. From the streets of Flint to Olympic gold and global dominance, Shields proves that greatness is forged, not gifted. Every scene punches with emotion and purpose, reminding us that real champions are built from pain, perseverance, and the fire within. A must-watch. A must-feel. A must-believe. #TheFireInside #ClarissaShields #GOAT #WomensBoxing #5StarFilm #RealChampions #BoxingLegend #FightLikeAGirl

Loved this film! The Fire Inside was a very motivating film to watch! It was uplifting, emotional, and rewarding. For those that don’t know the true life story of female professional boxer Clarissa Shields, this movie is about her story. This film shows her early life all the way up until she becomes an Olympic gold medal winner. What makes this movie work so well is it’s realism and avoids cliches that similar films fall into. Ryan Destiny does a wonderful job in the lead role here and really channels Clarissa Shields. Brian Tyree Henry was a real big surprise here. He gives one of the strongest performances of his career here. The Fire Inside will make you cheer, cry, and applaud. The Fire Inside gets a perfect 5 stars out of 5 from me.

Good story and inspiring. I’m not a boxing fan, but appreciate the perseverance and Olympic story portrayed in the film.

I really enjoyed this movie. I'm glad it was a true story about this boxer. We had dreams of a young age to become famous.
