The Five-Year Engagement
audience Reviews
, 51% Audience Score- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsGreat cast, but poorly writing and directed. You need more than a great cast to make a good or great TV show or movie.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI absolutely loved this movie! The characters were great with a great cast, the story was great and it had a lot of heart. Many laugh out loud moments that was also heart warming in the end. Super fun the entire time!
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsThe most unromantic romantic comedy I've ever seen. Saving private Ryan was both more romantic and had more laughs. Shocking this was ever greenlit.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsI thought it was okay. I liked Emily Blunt in it. Thought her character was interesting. I didn't find it super funny. I did think Chris Pratt was the funniest part, especially him singing. Segel plays the same character he plays in every movie.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsIt's funny. In lots of places. The “-com” part is there, but the romantic aspect... well, the movie is basically just a not-very-dramatic story about slowly drifting away plus a not-very-convincing portayal of “deeper feelings.”
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsWhat a big disappointment from Jason and Emily. The Five-Year Engagement has its moments, but they are few and far between.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsOver 10 years and Judd Apatow makes another hilarious romantic-comedy tons of laughs and such sweetness and sincerity Blunt and Segel have terrific on-screen chemistry the movie goes on a tad too long but the characters allow themselves to grow and learn what love really is when tying the knot I also really love Alison Brie as the sister who gets married 1st and has a change of heart about the whole institution when she's raising a family and knows what's best for Violet in the process, she can pull off an English accent maybe John Rys-Ifans' storyline could have been cut, too this movie though made me laugh, put a smile on my face and helped me look at the whole image of what marriage should run its course
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsStar Spangled ! Decent plot, excellent character development !
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsAwful. Tedious pacing. Emily Blunt and Jason Segal are written as two silly muppets.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsIt's funny, and I LOVE the cast. However the main relationship seems forced and the film puts too strong a focus on sex. Still worth watching, but could be better. 70/100
