I firmly believe in giving credit where credit is due, and this film deserves ample credit for the quality of its costumes, sets, props, and sound design. However, it suffers from a meandering script and mostly less-than-memorable characters. I found it difficult to follow the story at times, and I didn't find myself caring enough about any of the characters to be truly invested in the film's outcome.

Before watching this film I had no prior knowledge of it and no particular expectation. However, I found it engrossing and extremely realistic. It made me reflect on what being a soldier could be like and I thought of my grandad who fought in the First World War. Ultimately, I found it very moving.

Quite good with very little wrong with it, much unlike most contemporary films (*esp. around this subject matter) today - Don't watch it DUBBED, Opt in for the Subtitles in different languages so as not to break immersion - you can't really do much better in 2020 + if you have even a passing interest in the Largest War ever fought during our run as a "Civilization."
