The Gorge positions itself with plenty of intrigue, but what's hiding underneath are derivative aesthetics and dull execution.

Utterly appalling. Not a bad premise. A wasted opportunity.

This movie had so many insanely dumb plot holes, I was legit laughing out loud at how dumb it is. The the dialogue is incredibly predictable - I kept saying stuff right before they would say it. Unwatchable.

I loved this movie. Watched it four times so far. It’s not typical. Exciting and Anya is always kicking ass! Worth the watch. Get your popcorn.

What if you were told to go to the middle of the forest and stare at a hole for a year? A hole, you’re not sure what's down there, but a hole, nevertheless. You have food, water, shelter, books, a distant friend way over the way, and many, many guns. It sounds like one of those strange riddles you’d find on the back of an odd menu, ones that you’re sure there’s a definitive answer to that you just can’t place your finger on. For Scott Derrickson and The Gorge, Apple TV’s latest, there’s only one place to point your finger, and it’s not down – it’s to the other side. Military zombies? Ok... The message in the end? "Love conquers all"

This movie has both dramatic and thrilling aspects. It stays in touch with the viewer, not overwhelming with information nor shallow with nothing; lastly, it fills all corners by establishing an emotionally connected, thrilling, or action-packed audience. Even the antagonist landed their role better than several antagonists with shorter screen time and lines. Genres are kept up, having forms of suspense and enough sci-fi to avoid straying from suspense and other aspects of the film. Also, nothing is perfect; 4.5/5.

This film is a mixture of clandestine assassin mixed with romance, action and horror. Miles Teller has grown up into a man and Anya Taylor-Joy's performance and persona is mesmerizing. The chemistry between the actors comes interestingly as they have a lot in common. The horror story is also suspenseful and reminds me of "resident evil", "the last of us" type of action/horror. Sigourney Weaver does a good job playing the villain but only from a distance, and is far from her "Alien" form that we know her for. Overall the movie has you wondering what's going to pop up next out of "The Gorge".

What a heaping pile of dog doo-doo. All star cast sullied by laughable writing. I wish I could unsee it.
