The Guillotines
audience Reviews
, 17% Audience Score- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsA little disappointed while it's not a bad film per say, it gets bogged down in a lot of excess melodrama and plot devices half these types of films have nowadays making it pretty generic. Unfortunately not enough actual guillotining of heads to make it stand out.
- Rating: 1.5 out of 5 starsThe name speaks for itself - a hundred ways to cut of heads (as well as other body parts). Apart from that this work is characterized by the near total absence of anything even closely resembling a plot and really, REALLY bad acting. On top of that after the first 30 minutes the film feels like a Chinese Soap gone terribly wrong. Oh my...
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsSupertrash! impossible to watch also if you like this kind of movies.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsVery weak and uninteresting after the first initial scene. This movie could have been more as a text and even with the action scenes but gets bogged down ion strange scenarios and awkward acting and dialogue.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsMaybe this movie shouldn't be call The Guillotines, but call it the canon or guns! This movie do not make the guillotine shine! The worriers will just die without even lifting the weapon! Stupid! But this China made movie has better acting than others and quite a good story, even though it doesn't show much of the guillotines!
- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsEven the great production can't help the absurd plot...
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsAlternative titles include; "The Masters of the Flying Guillotine", "Guns, Cues, and Steel" and "Han Jesus". "Roughly 90 minutes of soapy Qing Dynasty fan fiction." But, "the spectacular action, gorgeous landscapes and costumes are what matter." Reducing the melodrama and run time would have been a good idea.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsIn the opening sequence, a rebel leader is captured by CGI. The Guillotines is a over-dramatic drama with no martial arts sequences to satisfy the action-lover, with horrendous melodrama everywhere. There's even a lack of a climax, in terms of action or drama. There really isn't a single moment or scene that makes this worth a viewing. Avoid at all costs.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsToo much flashy CG at the beginning then they ran out of funding for the rest of the movie. Government secret ops were wiped out by their own official in hopes of tying up loose ends & in favor of using firearms over martial arts.
- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsguillotines is a Chinese movie about wsrriors fighting each other in a war. to me its ok but the blades are cool. C
