The Hating Game
audience Reviews
, 74% Audience Score- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsThe book was obviously better.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsNot very good. Could easily have been a PG-13 movie, as the dialogue felt forced as an R-rated one. I guess it is watchable, but nothing truly stood out as a good movie.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsLoved, Loved, LOVED this movie. The chemistry between the principles, the pacing, the sharp banter and LOL rejoinders were a big delight, and Austin Stowell is very easy on the eyes too boot. Also read the book and enjoyed it as well. I wish they had included the verbal exchange between Lucy and Josh when she was trying to "guess" what type of car he drove: "...Kermit green Mini-Cooper, but the front seat doesn't move back, so you're driving with your knees on either side of the steering wheel..." was an image that was LOL funny. This is one of my favorite of all time rom-coms, and I've added it to my personal library of movies on DVD.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsThe actors did their best to add emotion to a flat film with weak dialogue and a poor story
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars"Watching The Hating Game is kinda like playing an old-school Geometry Dash level https://geometerydashh.com/ — the design feels a bit outdated, but the rhythm between the leads keeps you tapping through. Their chemistry hits like a perfect jump combo!"
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsStarted this movie with high expectations. Was met with a teenager’s first-try at a wattpad story. Extremely predictable, absolutely no story line. I would be more interested in watching paint dry.
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsWatched The Hating Game on Netflix and really enjoyed. The leads have chemistry, the dialogue is witty, and the pacing is excellent. Definitely one of the better rom-coms. Never read the book, so can't comment on that. Appreciate that this is a well produced film not from The Hallmark Channel. We barely get any films like this these days.
- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsLead characters were cast well. Definitely chemistry. But I can’t get past the male chauvinist traits in both males leads. It’s not based in the 1970’s where you would expect that level of snark. Not funny in a modern movie.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsI liked the actors, but their dialogue and relationship progression was undeniably rushed.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsAbout as bland and as easily consumed as a cone of soft-serve ice-cream on a hot day. In other words, perfect. Exactly what a rom com should be. Sonnets are 14 verses. ROM COMS are easily consumed.
