Derivitive. That's this movie in a nutshell for me. It's like it's taking pieces from Poltergeist, Amityville, classic haunted house flicks and even though this came before it The Conjuring did this type of concept 10 times better. Indirectly I feel like this is copying theflicks like Blair Witch 2 even for better or for worse. and that's the biggest problem. I felt like when I was watching this I'd seen this done a million times already and done better. This has nothing original to add. Once they move in the house stuff just straight happens with no clear rules set, a massive plot expose dump to explain as much as possible, and cheap jump scares that add nothing. The music is borigin generic and forgettable. The cinematography isn't good. It looks like every other horror movie from the 2000's-2010's and the direction is super generic. If you told me a certain scene came from another horror flick from the past 20 years I'd believe you. Everything else is just bad. The family is so generic, nothing about them stands out except the kid who has the C word, and no one is likeable or has any real chemistry. Everyone just does unlikeable stuff that doesn't really add anything like the Dad complaining about the lights being on, and other times they are doing such generic stuff I struggle to remember it. Skip this. Watch any other horror movie from the past 20 years or any other Haunted House flick and you'll end up watching this indirectly.

I LOVE scary movies- I watched this when I was young(er) I thought it was really good. Looking back it was not as I originally thought. I loved the cancer aspect and being close to death, but the total connection felt to be missing. Great bones, with a little more psychological depth it could have been great.

It was a decent, watchable horror movie. There should be more of 80's vibe since its setting was in that decade.

I really enjoyed this movie. The plot and storyline was really good and sad at the same time. Plus just the fact that the thought of living in a home where dead bodies are is enough to scare or worry most people. And the way the movie plays on that fear is really good.

It keeps your attention just long enough to leave you totally confused about what's happening.

This is absolutely one of my favorite scary movies. Plenty of jump scares to keep you on the edge of your seat the whole movie! Its my go to horror movie recommendation!

I loved it... It is one of those movies that is an origin of something that for me... given it is based in a true story adds more chills to it.

I saw this movie when it first came out and to this day I still enjoy watching it especially when I can't find anything else to watch because I know I won't be disappointed. It's a good movie and a good story. I feel it was well done. It just the right amount of creepy. Yes, it could be scarier and I probably would've liked it to be scarier but either way, still a great movie.
