The Hill
audience Reviews
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsAmazing film. On the nose at times but forgivable due to its beating heart. I love finding movies like this that the audience loves and critics hate.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsWhat the flying ****?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsThe Hill is an inspirational story of courage and determination in the face of unbelievable adversity. The acting is first rate with Dennis Quaid excelling. This is the rare cinematic experience where the audience leaves slightly better people then when they entered the theatre.
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsI really enjoy watching movies based on real life, and The Hill fits in that category. Mr. Quaid did a true to life portrayal of a rural Southern preacher and the young actors made for very credible boys raised in a strict Christian setting. The pastor Dad learns his lesson in the end, that God’s grace comes in different places and through the different talents He bestows upon His children. His stubbornness is melted by God as he realizes he has denied his son the very gift God had given the young man, even if only for a short season.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsInteresting disparity between the critics and audience for a movie with acute christian undertones. A good, watchable film with an excellent moral message and real emotion. I liked it.
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsNothing else to say other than that was a great movie
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsI always enjoy a true, feel good story. Dennis Quaid usually does these well but this one fell flat for me. Long, slow and kinda boring.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsGreat true story! Dennis Quaid always nails it. Highly recommend!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsExcellent story, based on a real person, and it really pulls you in. It was difficult to watch, at times, just because life and people can be very difficult and this portrays a heavy side of that. It's truly a film that will make you think about your own life and family relationships.
