, 65% Audience Score- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsOne of the wittiest and most charming movies of the early 00’s and it has a 63% in rotten tomatoes? I’ve seen turds get better rating than this!!! A great adaptation to a fantastic book. Martin Freeman and Zooey Deschanel are a fantastic duo with an incredibly funny and talented supporting cast. Definitely an irreverent must-watch!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsThis movie was incredibly intriguing and wildly entertaining. Its worldbuilding was really unique and endearing, and the characters were really goofy and loveable. I definitely recommend it for sci-fi fans!
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsIncredibly dull with many good parts that never add up to much.
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsa good movie that could have been better. still worth a watch.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsReally awful. Something a couple of elementary school kids might have spewed out on the spot when asked to make up a space comedy.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsOne of my favorite books was made into one of my favorite films. So much fun and bizarro-ness. Never gets old watching it and when I need a pick me up, this is it.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsUnderrated. Dealing with the source material nicely
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsThe book is one of my favorites, and I'm quite fond of this movie, too. It's a shame we never got a follow-up.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsThe acting was entertaining, and the visuals were a good match for the original story. However, the movie deviated quite a bit from the book Act 2 onwards, adding a romance arc that took the story somewhere else. Also, the story flattened into a good guys / bad-guys motif, disturbing the quirky charm of the original story. So a thumbs down for me.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsChoose someone other than Martin Freeman, the only character he can ever play is Martin Freeman.
