Very violent movie. Not much plot. Some things are kind of stupid.

A tender drama unfolds between a grieving father & a troubled teen while driving northbound in Australia, but what she doesn't know is that between stops, he's leaving behind a sadistic trail of bodies in a revenge motivated killing spree after his daughter's recorded rape & murder in this brutal & heartbreaking tale. Gritty revenge movie that works on the shoulders of its lead performer. Any film with a hero (I use that term very loosely) that gets his ass kicked every 5 minutes is a welcome change from the stake-free glossy violence of most mainstream cinema. Or at least, it would have been if half of these ass-kickings didn't take place in flashbacks, that by the nature of time, we know he already made it through. Still a very palatable Ozzie flick for those who have the stomach.

The revenge part of this film is nothing spectacular but the flashbacks of his daughter when she was a little girl were heartbreaking to me. My daughter is 2 and discovering everything and it made me think of her. I had a real connection to the character and the anger he felt as he reminisced about his little girl. So heartbreaking.

She's a pile of dust. I can hold her in one hand. Christian is an everyday man that is divorced from his wife, who raised their daughter. He loved his daughter but was never as close to her as he'd like; and when they were together, they often fought like cats and dogs. She ends up running away from her mom and getting into drugs and prostitution. One day he gets a package in the mail of a VHS tape with his daughter in a group sex scene. He then gets a call from the police to identify her body. Christian heads on his own avenging investigation. "What did you think I would do?" "I was hoping something like this." Steven Kastrissios, director of Bloodlands, delivers The Horseman in his directorial debut. The storyline for this is very well done and reminded me of a better Taken. The action scenes were very intense and well done by the special effects team. The acting was also very good and the cast includes Peter Marshall, Christopher Sommers, Evert McQueen, Brad McMurray, and Caroline Marohasy. "I'm going to make a pirate out of you." This was a recommended film to me on Netflix as 4.5/5 stars, so I gave it a shot. I was thoroughly impressed by this gem. The action was very intense and well done and I adored the main character and his evolution was well written. I strongly recommend seeing this Gritty gem. "Did she smell good?" Grade; A

Decent. But why don't any of these idiots have guns?

This could have been made in the 70's and it is one nasty, gritty and brutal revenge flick. A lot of the violence is left to the imagination but it is still really f**king savage. Christian Forteski is one bad mutha f**ka who wouldn't look out of place standing shoulder with Paul Kersey, Wilson from 'The Limey' , Jack Burton, John Eastland and Eddie Marino at a vigilante convention.
