The House on Sorority Row

[A] mish-mash of scream and scream again nonsense.

The House on Sorority Row is yet another in a long list of cheap thrills, sure enough, but a skillfully made, well paced one.

With an unsatisfying, incomplete conclusion (thanks to a hasty re-edit) and sparse seriousness, this Z-grade flick is most entertaining as a comedy.

The House on Sorority Row is a film that every horror fan should see at some point. It's influence can be felt in many later films and TV shows.

Easily the best slasher of 1983 (not a high bar).

Creative particulars are unexpectedly tight, with writer/director Mark Rosman investing in suspense over pure exploitation, though the basics in nudity, bloodshed, and screamy panic are covered.

If you've never experienced the horrors of what happened that fateful evening at the Pi Theta House, this would definitely be an excellent introduction.

an interesting and generally entertaining addition to a genre that is often characterized by a lack of creativity and mindless repetition
