Hilarious, I'll bet the rest of hollywood hated this one lol. I've already seen it a couple times now

I enjoyed this far more than I perhaps should have. While not a new idea in film, this telling puts a new spin on hunting humans for sport, and there is just enough irreverence in some of the characters that keeps it from getting too dark. Betty Gilpin and Hilary Swank give fantastic performances in this film, although Swank's screen time is mostly limited to the climax of the movie. I'm glad I bought this on Blu-ray.

Goffy and fun. The few poke here and there at dem's and rep's are funny, this movie was quite a surprise. OF COURSE the scenario isn't believable, OF COURSE acting is bad... if you don't get it then you wont (!). I spent a very good time, had quite a few chuckles, and am wondering why I'm always at odd with other reviews on rotten tomatoe :-D

I give this movie 2.5 because I liked it til that guy pretending to be from embassy showed up. After that it was just awful. Story is exceptionally weak.

Overall the film was technically well-crafted (special effects, cinematography, choreography) but the writing was woeful, the script could have been written by an AI. The supporting characters (at least the several that got significant screen time) were paper thin - both hunters and hunted, and as the audience didn't really get to know either group's members beyond basic stereotypes in attire and dialogue we couldn't really build any stakes in caring who lived or died. The exception was the protagonist Crystal, whom was very well portrayed by Betty Gilpin and elevated the movie from a time waste to watchable.

A very crazy story that moves along quite quickly. The Hunt is a great Mystery film with a touch of comedy.

I liked the world they tried to build and the way the story unfolded with a bit of mystery, but I was kind of hoping it would be better, and definitely funnier. The satirical humor never quite works. Maybe it represents too strong of stereotypes. I’m not sure you even really root for the main character, and there’s just not a lot to care about. It’s not a smart, sharp social commentary like "Get Out", there’s nothing very clever here. It’s just a little too on the nose in a brazen way, and it doesn't totally work.

It's goofy, it's fun. It's people dropped in a field without a clear reason until the end is near, and the result explains a lot about what it happening around us in the real world. Pay close attention to this one, it hides huge, huge messages that I suspect people won't want to hear, but should really listen to.
