The Incredible Mr. Limpet

One of the favorite movies of my childhood. It stands up pretty well, too. Great plot. Well executed. Pure wholesome family fun. The kids will be on the edge of their seats. Rickles' first movie.

Brings me back to my childhood, when things were much more innocent. The color and film were way ahead of their time

How is this movie even legal? First of all, who is this George guy who randomly comes over and steals limpet’s wife? He went into the ocean and his wife cried for practically 5 minutes and then laughed with old Georgie. He spent his whole life studying fish and then went to the ocean floor like “why is it not beautiful?” Why does he have razor sharp teeth and whale voice? He is a freak. Then lady fish comes out and says, I like you very much come to the spawning grounds. This is messed up and illegal. Parents keep this away from the kids. Lady fish is just wrapping all around him like a freak. And then she tells him that she couldn’t go to spawning ground until now. So for all we know, this fish is 9 months old in human years. His wife is even appears in the ocean but that doesn’t stop him from wanting to get frisky with fishy. Suddenly he is telling ship captains to kill the nazis and uses his beluga screams to blow up nazis? What the heck is going on.

I'm now 59 years old, this movie came out one year before I was born. I loved this movie when I first saw it as a kid and I am watching it now and I still love it. I grew up with Mr. Knotts, I've had so very many laughs outta this guy and even in this new world we live now I still think there's nothing like the comedy of yesteryear! Don Knotts has always been one of my heros!

A funny classic that holds up

It always mystified me that the folks at Disney were able to convince themselves that Don Knotts could carry a movie.

Warner Bros. kid movie in answer to Disney. Shows human action and animated mix. A good fit for the under 10 yrs. old. It is family fare and it is funny. Note : the bad reviews are adults wanting a kids movie to entertain them on their level or they just don't like Knotts. Maybe they wanted some rude,crude,or lewd content.

The bad reviews for Limpet are just stinky. This is one of the most interesting fantasy films ever made. Anybody who sees this as a kid will remember it forever. And it's actually about something: manhood and bravery.

The greatest 01 hour: and 42 minutes ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love Don Knotts, but this was bad. I remember it from when I was a kid so I wanted to see it again. Wow, was this a stinker! Most of Don's time is spent voice acting an animated fish. That gets tired and lame pretty quick. I could hardly wait for it to be over.
