The Invisible Raptor

Given the numerous times when lame riffing on juvenile yuks grinds the film’s gears to a halt, its nearly two-hour runtime feels awfully indulgent.

Though charming to start, this high concept horror-comedy struggles to reconcile its cruder impulses and stretches on the wacky dino hijinks a bit too long.

Producers: We have no money to make a realistic Velociraptor
Script writers: We got you guys! what if the raptor was invisible?
Producers: You did it, you crazy sons of b*tches you did it!

I seriously need this conversation to have actually happened.

Dumb, goofy, silly, funny, and fantastic!

Despite its absurd premise, The Invisible Raptor still proved to be a highly emotional and gratifying viewing experience, with plenty of delightfully strong gore and hilarious visual gags thrown in along the way.



This very crass, deliberately lowbrow but occasionally funny film is not only gory but scatological.

There was potential to chisel out a sub-90-minute absurd gem from The Invisible Raptor, making the crude slog that we get instead all the more frustrating.

Seems to lose its nerve once the titular beastie is on the loose. There’s a sense of reluctance that makes it tough to give in completely to The Invisible Raptor’s wacky charms, but the movie is certainly entertaining for the most part.

Mike Capes and Johnny Wickham's The Invisible Raptor is a movie that, in spite of its seemingly self-aware title, is dreadfully not funny enough.


If you're into an invisible raptor Weekend at Bernie's-ing dead bodies (dressed like Dennis Nedry) or other B-movie Jurassic Park spoofs, boy do I have a movie for you.
