Despite the other reviews, I thought it was a tasteful screenplay comprised of great actors and bits of history. The first two kingsman movies are good, but they're quite gruesome. This one is clean, historical, and not over-the-top action like the first movie (or over-the-top bloody like the church scene). Overall really good.

I missed the FUN of the first two in this series. And this one has gratuitous violence. One star, really, but there is some inspired choreography: the evil Rasputin (Rhys Ifans) rocks a mid-point set piece that's fantastic. Plus there is a fortress-to-be-overtaken that's amazing. So two stars. Then there are real tears. Then some twisted history....wait, I gotta add a third star. Can't wait for the next one!

it was sad. not emotionally though because there's no emotion in this film. its all tell, no show.

Nothing like the first two. Good cast aside, this film has barely any action and is a super slow war drama that isn't even interesting. It feels like a middle finger to people who liked the first one or two, like we were stupid for it.

Update: maybe i was bit too harsh. But watching movie I was frequently hit by bad lines. But it was miles. Miles, better, than the second movie of the series. The golden circle. Which was. Wow! Also, such a good potential. And good notes. I like everything about the basics kings man. But the details. Well.... that is why the score is so low. I mean it's not even satire sometimes. I am so sour. Because, man, this could have been one of my all time favorite movies. And yet, i fell like the dialogues and the predictability ruined it. It takes a good and solid ground. It has a solid base, and ruins it with stupid, cliquey, basic, predictable details, quite like your favorite cake, made by inept baker. The dialogues are awfully distasteful, akin to something written by me in 3rd grade, the directorship is awful, the stories about the royals have such a great potential. Yet it is ruined by script and directorship, that makes me feel like untalented screenwriter took a good story, that someone else outlined for them and spoiled it. Which is a shame, because it had such a potential. A spy story. A history background of epic proportions. Elegance, honour and glamour. And yet it all comes down to this bad execution, where everything is either erratic, absurd or damn predictable. Kinda reminds me of Netflix series Lupon. Also had such a rich potential, rich background, endless possibilities, to became a series, people remeber for a long time. But the plot holes ruined any good there was.

Despite the negative reviews and the disappointment of The Golden Circle. I went into The Kings Man with trepidation, well now after finally watching it this maybe my favorite of the series! Sure it's slow in some parts, and it's clichéd to hell and predictable, but I had a big dumb smile on my face the whole time. This film hits every button of my for action films for me; bloody, good action, a little ridiculous and cool characters. Also I absolutely love history and I've recently been reading, watching and learning more about The Great War, and The Kings Man being set in that era and seeing all the little Easter eggs made it even more exciting. Bring on Kingsmen: WWII, need Aaron Taylor-Johnson taking down Hitler.

I'm not sure where the fun of the previous movies went but it was t in The Kings Man. Hardly any creativity in the fight choreography and lacking in overall class we see in the first films. The best part comes half way through the movie and everything else after felt forced. Very predictable writing. It makes me miss the wit of the originals.

The prequel just doesn’t work. Fail.

What is this story, really? I know kids who can write a better story, the acting and the scenes. I've seen it before in 19th century movies.

I'm very surprised the critics didn't like this film, it has everything.. action, adventure, historical inaccuracy, and is a welcome addition to a great franchise.
