Agreed it's a stinker.
Joan Caulfield's character needs to have gumption and be a worthy adversary. Unfortunately she comes across too naive and vulnerable with unconvincing bouts of petulance so there is no sexual tension at all.

Amusing but should have been better.

I loved it. It's laugh out loud funny and the old cars are a bonus. Niven and Justice are as amusing as usual and Caulfield?...vavavoom!
Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars
David Niven plays his usual self in this very light if not silly comedy. Female author dares to write feminist book trashing all men. Journalist Niven dares to take her on anyway. Briskly paced but in black and white, strange since it's 1951.

Wastes a good cast in a dated sexist mess of a comedy.
