Wow. Such a welcomed departure from Pierce Brosnan typical roles. How he did not win an Oscar for this I had no idea.

Wonderful movie. The first half is a little slow but it picks up the pace. Excellent acting by Pierce, he does a wonderful job portraying someone 20+ years older with dignity and grace. Poignant and heartwarming writing and directing with a wonderful soundtrack. It made me cry a few times, especially the last scene.Highly recommend it.

It's not perfectly written, but I really enjoyed this movie. Having family members that both survived and died during WW2, I had a pretty strong connection to Artie. I believe it's definitely worth a watch.

Why was this not nominated for an Academy Award???

It is a movie that stirs the hearts of those who can empathize with choices made out of devotion to one's country, family and friends. I visited Normandy and found this to be such a beautiful tribute to the reality of what went on there and the aftermath. Well acted and I felt it was quite appropriate in how older folks share memories. It is well worth the watch and be prepared to shed a few tears of gratitude. Be kind....

A poignant story of loss and self evaluation. For a quiet little movie this has some heart wrenching turns - this man carries much thru his life. Pierce was stellar in this role and deserves acknowledgement.

Very good movie! Somewhat predictable but enjoyable!

I thought it was an amazing movie. In a time where we have to be bombarded with nonstop "superhero" garbage, I thought it was great, and wish we had more movies like this.

My wife and I enjoyed the film. It's a little predictable, but that's OK because Pierce Brosnan delivered a very good performance of a character 22 years older than his is today. After the movie, I was happy to read a little more about the man on whose story the film is loosely based, Bernard Jordan. If you are willing to suspend disbelief a little for this story, you'll enjoy it. Be sure to watch through the end credits!
