The Legend of Ochi
audience Reviews
, 62% Audience Score- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsThis is not just inspired by E.T., it literally is following the same story beats at times. That’s not to say there aren’t some unique and genuinely endearing moments in this film, there are many. The film looks great, and all the special effects are spot on. That said, not enough really happens in this movie for me to really want to watch it again. The baby ochi is a cool dude though…
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsThis movie was something else. At first doesn't seem bad but then you see the monsters absolutely disgusting and weird looking little plot and so random. Like why was there "I can't hear you speak louder AHHHH". This was a terrible movie
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsThe trailer pulled me in however very quickly I realized this was going to be a disaster of a movie. Such strange scene changes, the characters have no personality and the whole thing felt like a fever dream I couldn't wake from. I finished the movie only because it was THAT bizarre I couldn't look away
- Rating: 1.5 out of 5 starsI should have expected this for an A24 film. So strange. So quirky. So "art house." Even my kids could barely watch it (ages 13, 10, and 7). Why make a movie in such a way that alienates any potential audience? The main character was lifeless, expressionless, and emotionless. The score was off-putting. The dialog was nonsensical. The only redeeming aspects of the film were the cinematography and puppeteering.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsThis was such a beautiful story of growing up and family. They built a world I wanted to stay and discover with the main character. Beautiful from start to finish.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsI can't believe a movie like this gets a 77% on this platform and awesome movies that actually have like good dialogue and good graphics and good action. Scenes get like less than 10%... What the hell is wrong with you people. This movie is awful. There's like nothing going on. It's lake Valhalla rising 45 minutes on a boat.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsThis one was interesting the father lied to them so they can kill the creatures That's crazy but like everything else you find out is a lie of the Ochi is so dang cute I want one for myself as a pet they did a great job with action It was very little but it's more about stepping out on your own trusting yourself kind of thing in this story It had a pretty satisfying ending.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsWould've been a good movie, if they didn't play background music the whole time, it is ridiculous. And annoying
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsIts a shame that third act is unexpectedly bad
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsLegend of Ochi seems made for an audience of pre-teen girls, but they'll quickly grow bored with the unoriginal plot and unengaging characters. Dull and forgettable.
