The Life List

The word “messy” is bandied around by its characters but The Life List is far too clean.

"The Life List" is painstakingly safe. It has no conflict, let alone an edge.

Much like a “Live, Laugh, Love” cross-stitch has its place in a certain type of home, The Life List has its place as a cathartic tearjerker for those who care more about life-affirming stories than quality filmmaking.

It’s frustratingly more concerned with telling us how she’s financially able to afford having a quarter-life identity crisis than it is with giving her journey toward enlightenment any genuine, satiating sense of internal transformation.

One of the best rom coms I have seen lately.

Sofia Carson gives a beautiful performance about the stages of grief and growing into your own person and the film is anchored by the incredible Connie Britton.

A feel-good rom/com.

There are moments in this film that can feel overly manipulative, but if you let yourself get swept up in the characters, you might find this a meaningful and rewarding journey.

Netflix’s The Life List is a romantic drama that is far too long but has such an adorable performance from its star, Sofia Carson.

While The Life List can't entirely avoid some shallowness, it's a cozy watch with a strong message made stronger by Sofia Carson's performance.
