The Lion King
audience Reviews
, 88% Audience Score- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsIt’s vastly superior to the cartoon, but the cartoon was good.
- Rating: 1.5 out of 5 starsThis movie did not capture even a minute of amount of charm as the original. I especially hated Timon and Pumbaa in this one. I mean, when you remove the hula scene, you are asking for trouble. Zazu wasn't great either. Honestly the only reason i watched is because James Earl Jones came back.
- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsNever watching a live action Disney remake again. Nothing changed to make this better. The Scar vs Simba fight was best part.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsNot sure how it's a "live action" given it's CGI, but this version pales in comparison to the original. The "shot for shot" parts fell flat on its face and felt forced. Honestly, the most intriguing bits were the 100% original bits to this movie in particular that I was interested in, as far and and few as they were. Visually stunning, obviously, but the characters are closer to carboard than having any semblance of expression. Just doesn't translate well from a 2D animated film. The voice actors are there and definitely gave it their all, but there is literally nothing they can do against such bland characters visually speaking. Please just watch the animated film.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsAbsolutely criminal. A pathetic, soulless, badly directed embarrassment. The fact that this even considers itself worthy to be compared to the original is a disgrace. Jon Favreau needs to never again be allowed near a Disney classic. The absolute lack of character throughout is depressing and and cringe worthy. There is no expression, the voice acting falls flat, the visuals are lame. Every choice that attempted to improve itself was just not thought through, it is clear the people responsible for this have no idea why the original is so successful. Bring back charm. And Jeremy Irons.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsMikey's Film Review: The Lion King (2019) Disney's 2019 'The Lion King' revamp is a true technical marvel. But, the CG artistry and brilliant photo realism on display as exciting as it is to look at, leaves this reviewer a little cold. Just because they could, doesn't mean that they should... As a fan of the original 1994 2D (although some 3D computer techniques were used in a few sequences) animated feature, particularly the voice cast, this version misses its main target by a mile. Namely the heart. It doesn't have one. The strength of the '94 film was the emotional core to the story and the perfect mix of actor and animation that brought these beloved characters to life. Not that all the new cast are terrible. Seth Rogen is a great fit for Pumba, while Chiwetel Ejiofor relishes the role of Scar. The new versions of the songs are fine if unexceptional, but the lackluster Direction by fan favourite Jon Favreau (who made an excellent remake of The Jungle Book) is both surprising and disappointing. See it. Forget it. Watch the original! Mikey's Movie Rating: 3/5*
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsI did not liked this movie. Didn’t like that some animals are bad like the hienas. Second. Male lions are not even the top of the pride. The lioness are. They’re the real hunters. Third. The real “kings” of Africa are the elephants where also, it’s the female who outranks the males. This movie gives real bad information to children. Not to mention that there’s just no way a lion can survive on eating bugs. Also. The story is cheesy 🍿/5 on Disney +
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsIt's pretty much a scene-for-scene remake of the 1993 animated movie, so your mileage may vary on whether that makes for a good, great, mediocre, or bad experience. It was good enough to keep my interest and there a few very slight changes made to give fans of the original a good chuckle. The voice actors were pretty good and the animation was consistently well done. I do feel like it loses a little bit of beauty by going for realism over the bright colorful 2D animation, but there was still some nice looking scenery with waterfalls and such. Overall a good film, just one that some viewers might find to be unnecessary.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsTerrible remake another way to ruin Disney classics by using live action
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsThis film is incredible ! He is creat by Jon Favreau in 2019. This film great for children and enven for the adults. He is a little touching at a certain point. In this film there are a actor that I like. This film is about a lion who leaves home and comes back older to fight his uncle and recup Its territory. The graphics is very nice and many if you have a very good TV. The film is very good shot and the personage is really good designed. And how do you think the film will end Will he manage to beat his uncle or not? Enjoy viewing the film.
