- Rating: 1.5 out of 5 starsMy Girlfriend is a big fan of the Lizzie McGuire series,I'm not,she wanted to see this during summer school and it was honestly absolute garbage, there was barely any good stuff and all I can say is that this should have been replaced with bugs life 2
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsFun movie to watch. I watch it every now and then and still enjoy it. Cool song at the end!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsBased on the hit tv series on Disney channel It stars Hilary Duff as Lizzie McGuire herself She's graduating high school On her summer break though she and her classmates including Kate and Ethan are off to Rome, Italy Paolo Valisari, a European music sensation then meets her mistaking her for another musician named Isabella Parigi Both her and Paolo had a falling out He then gets a crazy idea to pass her off as Isabella of course Lizzie isn't so sure about it She has to build to the courage to get past her stage fright singing with the help of her friend Gordo How long can she keep it up and moreover she's falling in love with Paulo unaware of Gordo's true feelings about her This is still a story of a young girl dreaming of becoming a pop star and it fits the target audience it's aimed at Even if it's not memorable and doesn't necessarily scream cinema the fans will get their fill The final scene with the concert is the best thing with the best song Although I wish the ending was better and this didn't feel like an extended tv episode
- Rating: 1.5 out of 5 starsMan This Sucked. The acting isn't good at all for being a big screen feature, the cinematography is cheap, uninspired, shot like a sitcom, and doesn't really ever take advantage of its amazing set location. The music is Bad with cheap pop numbers and songs that feel over the top and don't really go together. The worst parts are the editing and pacing they are absolutely terrible for the whole middle of this film. A third of this movie is nothing but edited montages and Lizzie and her love interest just doing stuff with no real plot taking place until the last ten minutes. This should have been a 40-45 minute Disney Channel TV Special not a Theater release. There is basically no plot for over half this film. Skip This At All Cost.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsThis movie is super good if it's nostalgic for you. Did you watch it when you were little? Yes? Then you will like this movie. If not, maybe watch something from your childhood.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsThe first movie based on a Disney Channel series finds the titular character graduating from junior high school and taking a trip to Rome with her classmates. This film also serves as the series finale after only two seasons. It is interesting that a two season show is popular enough to warrant a theatrical release film, but not a third season. Full disclosure: I have never seen an episode of Lizzie McGuire nor am I the target demographic of the show or movie. I found the setup of the plot to be ridiculous, as they gave a bunch of eighth graders a choice to go to a water park or to Rome, Italy and only six chose (or could afford) Rome. Plus the high school principal, someone they first met on the first day of the trip, is the only chaperone and tour guide. After the setup, the movie is predictable and non-engaging. The acting from Alex Borstien, who plays the principal, is too over the top for me. All the other actors did fine with the exception of the traveling montages that I felt were poorly directed. The writing seemed to focus on what middle school girls want to see instead of creating a good narrative. Make-overs, a silly fashion show, and a pop concert ending all feel like check marks on a list. I do not think this movie did the series any favors, I would suggest you skip this film.
