, 85% Audience Score- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsThe Lost Boys is an absolute classic that I can't get enough of. An MTV-era popcorn flick that still delivers every time. With its killer soundtrack, stylish vampire aesthetic, and endlessly quotable lines, it's the perfect blend of horror, humor, and '80s cool. This cult favorite never gets old, and watching it feels like hanging out with one of the coolest undead gangs in cinema.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsGreatest vampire movie ever.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsOne of the best vampire movies ever made, if not the best!
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsThe Lost Boys (1987) If you don't like vampire movies you'll like this one, could save your life! Director: Joel Schumacher Cast: Jason Patric, Corey Haim, Dianne Wiest, Barnard Hughes, Edward Herrmann, Kiefer Sutherland, Jami Gertz, Corey Feldman, Jamison Newlander, Brooke McCarter, Billy Wirth, Alex Winter and Chance Michael Corbitt. Plot: When a mother and her two teenage sons move to Santa Carla, it does not take long for the brothers to realize that something out of the ordinary is happening in the town. The Lost Boys is a nostalgia base thrill ride that doesn't stop, with the best soundtrack from any 1980s movie. When someone ask me what your favourite scary movie? More often then not I'll have four movies and one of those four is The lost Boys. Now you might think what's so great about it, while that's what I'll be talking about today. First of all the storytelling, the plot is simple but effective with every scene flowing perfectly with the next, keeping the plot moving without any unnecessary filler scenes. With one of the best third acts of all time, with it's blend of action, horror and comedy on full display at the end. The Lost Boys has some of the most interesting characters in cinema history with each of them having a moment to shine, the only slight issue I have is the scrip really gives more to the side characters then to the main character Michael, who comes across boring to the rest, not taking anything away from Jason Patric performances who does do a good job, however I've always found Michael to be a bit underwhelming. The Lost Boys has the best cast assembled in the 1980's from great rising stars at the time like Jason Patric, Kiefer Sutherland, Jami Gertz, Corey Haim and Corey Feldman, to the more senior cast members in Dianne Wiest, Barnard Hughes (WHO BY THE WAY STEALS EVERY MINTUE HE'S ON SCREEN AS GRANPA) and Edward Hermann. The cast to me is what truly makes The Lost Boys an all time great movie. From a movie making point of view The Lost Boys is perfect, Joel Schumacher is at his best with the sound effects, lightening and set designs all being top notch. The make up design on the vampire's are simple but effective, really giving each vampire they're own different look. However the best thing about The Lost Boys is its wonderful scrip, having some of the most memorable and best lines in horror movie history, Introducing new rules to the vampire law (even some modern day vampire movies use these rules) and finally with its excellent blend of comedy and horror really putting the two together perfectly. After all that being said The Lost Boys is truly a classic and I would encourage anyone to watch it. The Lost Boys is a must see. You can stream it on Amazon prime video. RATING: 8.8/10. - Rating: 5 out of 5 starsA Cult Classic that Still Bites - "The Lost Boys" Review Rating: 5/5 stars "The Lost Boys" is a iconic vampire film that has aged remarkably well since its release in 1987. Director Joel Schumacher's clever blend of horror, comedy, and coming-of-age drama creates a unique viewing experience that continues to captivate audiences. The film's setting, a fictional California beach town, provides a sun-kissed backdrop for the dark and moody vampire lore. The special effects, although dated, still hold up surprisingly well, particularly the vampire transformations and death scenes. The cast delivers standout performances, with Corey Haim and Jason Patric shining as the two brothers at the center of the story. Kiefer Sutherland, as the charismatic and menacing vampire leader David, steals every scene he's in. The chemistry between the actors is undeniable, making their characters' relationships feel authentic and relatable. The film's themes of teenage angst, rebellion, and the struggle to find one's place in the world are timeless and universal. The movie's soundtrack, featuring tracks by INXS, The Call, and Echo & the Bunnymen, perfectly captures the mood and atmosphere of the film. Overall, "The Lost Boys" is a cult classic that continues to enthrall audiences with its blend of style, humor, and horror. If you haven't seen it, do yourself a favor and watch it – but be warned: once you've entered the world of the Lost Boys, you may never want to leave.
