The Many Saints of Newark
audience Reviews
, 59% Audience Score- Rating: 1.5 out of 5 starsA truly boring and miserable movie. This was supposed to be the bright spot of film during the pandemic, but do not watch this and be a fool. It's a random crime movie that ripped off the names from The Sopranos, and pretended like it was ever close to the series. Nothing like the show; nothing worth writing home about.
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsFor starters it's hard not to compare with the incomparable Soprano series. That said, on first viewingI found it above average what with the highest of expectations, a B+ if you will. However, because of my love for the genre and first experience watching it, the second time was a charm. A very strong charm. And I would watch it again & again. Anytime anywhere. SA
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI've watched the Sopranos so many times I lost count! If you like the Sopranos then you will definitely like this movie. I would love to see some more movies and or series that involve the Sopranos. With all the reboot movies and prequel stuff these days I think this would definitely be a big hit rating wise....
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsWas amazing! The way it was tied in perfectly to the sapranos was perfect! Actors and acting perfection!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI miss the Sopranos... I'd take more content like this, anything at all David Chase!
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsI watched this movie because it was supposed to be an offshoot of the Soprano's, which is one of my favorite series. It is not like the Soprano's and Dickie Moltisanti would never have been able to be one of Tony's guys. This movie is disappointing, to say the least.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsMost of the dialogue in the movie only served the purpose of asking the audience "Remember that? Huh? Remember when the character said this line on the tv show?" Also the Silvio character was absolutely embarassing. Frankly im embarassed and ashamed.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsHuge disappointment. Giving 2 stars might even be a reach.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsAs someone who never watched the show, this did nothing to pull me into their universe. I think it woulda been better as a spin off series so they can dive into the story more.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsThe movie is unfocused. It attempts to tell too many stories and ends up telling very little. There is nothing to suggest that Tony would grow up to become a murdering sex obsessed sociopath mob boss. During the Soprano's long running tv series Chase had the luxury of doling out tidbits along the way to provide insight to his characters. But in this format, a 2 hour movie, that doesn't work. He has 3 stories going on here and none of it adds up to much.
