Though Laurence Fishburne didn't play Morpheus in this movie which I found to be quite disappointing, this turned out to be pretty decent, there are minimal action scenes just like in the 3rd one, but the action shown in this movie was of good quality and I appreciate the funny moments they managed to sneak in here and there, especially in the ending. Not a bad addition to the series but the first 2 will always remain superior. 7/10

Not as terrible as all the haters would have you believe, it was interesting enough and it'd didn't drag. It wasn't that convoluted or confusing as some people would make out.
It does feel a bit like a straight to streaming movie, and lacks the wow of the original Matrix movie.
Lot's of nice references back to the original though.

A great addition to the franchise and I believe most of the themes of the film went over people's heads. I see exactly what this film is and what it was. People may think Lana Wachowski was trying to crash the franchise but the film was a labor of love

This is completely trash. Only made it for money

Rewatching M Resurrection and like it even more. The every person life path the whole series demonstrates --
youth awakening and rebelling, midlife surrender for the sake of peace and safety, and late life reawakening to what's worth fighting for, even if there's not as much gas in the tank - all with a delicious sense of humor.

"The Matrix Resurrections": A Bold, Imperfect Return to the Digital Wonderland
Score: 8/10
As a long-time devotee of the original "Matrix" trilogy – a cultural phenomenon that profoundly shaped my view of cinema – "The Matrix Resurrections" arrived with a potent mix of anticipation and trepidation. The original films were more than just movies; they were a paradigm shift. Approaching this fourth installment, I was cautiously optimistic, and ultimately, it delivered a solid 8 out of 10.
What I Loved: A Welcome Reunion and Brave New Ideas
The biggest joy was undeniably the reunion with beloved characters. Seeing Neo (Keanu Reeves) and Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss) back on screen in their iconic roles was incredibly satisfying. Their enduring chemistry and profound connection, always the beating heart of "The Matrix," resonate strongly here. The film’s exploration of their relationship years later, and what it means to fight for love and freedom when no longer young and having endured so much, was particularly moving.
The very concept of "resurrecting" the Matrix and its characters through a new lens, complete with meta-commentary on how the franchise has been received and reinterpreted, felt incredibly bold and intriguing. I genuinely appreciated the Wachowskis' attempt not just to replicate past glories, but to contemplate the legacy of "The Matrix" and its relevance in a contemporary world where reality and virtuality are even more intertwined. The film poses many thought-provoking questions, a characteristic I always cherished in the original.
Visual Flair and Nostalgic Touches
Visually, while distinct from its predecessors, the film retains that recognizable "Matrix" aesthetic, albeit with a modern polish. Some of the new action sequences, though fewer than in the originals, were well-executed. What truly hit home were the nostalgic nods to the original films. These moments were woven in organically enough to avoid feeling like mere self-repetition, instead evoking genuine warmth and recognition.
Why Not a Perfect 10: Pacing and Dynamic Shift
This brings me to why it lands at an 8 rather than a 10. If the film had been just a touch faster and more dynamic, I believe it would have been a perfect continuation. There were times, particularly in the first third, where the narrative pace felt like it dragged. Some dialogues extended a bit too long, and while the action scenes were good, they didn't always possess the same frenetic energy and groundbreaking innovation as the originals.
I understand this slower pace was likely a deliberate choice to portray more "weary" and changed heroes, and to delve deeper into philosophical introspection. However, as a viewer, I occasionally craved a bit more drive, sharper editing, and a more rapid progression of events. It's not a critical flaw, but it slightly dampened the overall "wow" factor that accompanied my initial viewings of the earlier films.
Inner Turmoil and Modern Meanings
I was thoroughly engrossed by Neo's internal struggle, his attempts to discern what is real and what isn't. The film expertly plays with this theme, prompting us to question the very fabric of what we see. It offers no easy answers, instead pushing us to reflect on choice, control, and the nature of reality in our modern digital age. This depth is something I truly value.
Conclusion
Overall, "The Matrix Resurrections" stands as a very strong and worthy film. It doesn't merely copy; it bravely attempts to re-examine and evolve the ideas of the original. While always a risk, I believe it largely succeeded here. Bringing Neo and Trinity back and giving them such a compelling story was a bold move, and I'm glad it was made.
My 8 out of 10 rating acknowledges its many strengths, while also expressing a slight wish for a more rapid rhythm. Had it been a bit more vibrant, it might have achieved a perfect return to the universe, but even as is, it's a powerful film I'll gladly rewatch.

One of the worst movies/sequals I have ever experienced. Disgraceful to the legendary Matrix trilogy. Shame on you Keanu

This is actually a decent sequel
We're never going to get those thrills the original gave us , it was something none of us had ever seen before.
But I was pleasantly surprised with this , the story becomes quite unique really.
Essentially it is a love story, which I think was handled very well.
And there is still some kiss a** action in there to
