The Mist
audience Reviews
, 65% Audience Score- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsI liked it. It’s low-budget, for sure, but the film wisely chooses to focus on the interpersonal relationships of the characters rather than the monsters and the lore. In a lot of ways, the threat itself is secondary to the film and could easily be swapped out with any other mysterious force. The politics of the trapped townspeople get really interesting, elevated by mostly good performances. I especially appreciated the religious allegory of the hate that’s become so prevalent in our society. The ending was a surprise (in a good way) and feels very Stephen-King. It’s a tight film that, despite some hit-or-miss CGI and plot-driven logic, proves effectively scary and leaves you thinking.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsThe ending is literally unforgettable.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsVery creepy, leaving a bitter aftertaste, The Mist is an absolute masterpiece of horror genre (best horror movie of 2000). Thomas Jane is amazing in this movie. The final rips the heart to pieces.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsWhatever. The Mist scared the crap outta me. and then I scared it with my friends.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsEsperaba mucho más del final, simplemente es ???
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsFrank Darabont is a King Whisperer deluxe. No one has matched the success of making a King story into a hit movie the way Darabont has. Darabont did both "The Shawshank Redemption" and "The Green Mile." You can make an argument that those are two of the best King conversions ever made. While it isn't in the same class as the King/Darabont collaboration on the two great prison stories, The Mist is no slouch, either.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsLove the short story. They def brought it to life with this movie. You don't see the ending coming. Will leave you unsettled for days.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsThe cast is really good and delivers a stunning performance. The plot though gets really tedious and it feels like it's dragging on way to long towards the end. The ending while being depressing and very impactful kinda feels like Stephen King pulled it out of his ass just for the sake of being depressing. It feels nonsensical that the mist suddenly disappears just because the army arrives. It's a good watch if you've got nothing else to watch but I wouldn't recommend going out of your way just to watch it.
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsWould have been 3stars if it wasn’t for how crazy awesome the ending was. Excellent movie!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsOne of Stephen King’s best movie adaptations. This movie has lots of suspense and is a great survival horror movie. The story is also very dark and very messed up as the ending of the movie is one of the most heart wrenching and depressing endings ever. This movie is great to watch and shows how brilliant Stephen King is with his storytelling.
