The Monster Project
audience Reviews
, 46% Audience Score- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsOverall a decent found footage horror film. I really loved Jamal he was super funny and made the movie a lot better. There was also a few things I was not expecting that made the movie better for me. It is not one of the greats but I think its worth a one time watch.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsI felt so dizzy while watching. It could have been better if they made it like a real movie than a shaky found footage.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsThis movie isn't terrible. My biggest gripes are the overuse of the "faulty camera glitch" looks and when the action speeds up, unfortunately so do the recording cameras. I liked seeing Justin Bruening in a scary movie, as I usually think of his character, Jamie, from All My Children. It was a delight to notice the vampire looked super familiar and that's because she is a sister to the youngest girl from the Nanny, Madeline Zima. There is much from the film that could have been cut to make things be less frenetic and shaky and could keep the run time down. It's a lot of film without the best payoffs, but it is entertaining on a dark night! Do watch at home with the lights off!
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsThe monster project is a "found footage" horror that gets lost in bad monster chasing for the final third of the film. Zuker can't act her way out of a hat.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsOut of all the horror movies I've watched that are on the cheap budget side this one is probably the best and it's pretty different and new Compared to high dollar Hollywood movies this one has alot going for it and puts high dollar films to shame. It's got a simple storyline with a twist at the end, it shows all the monsters in action and unlike Hollywood it actually explains EVERYTHING! It has a few jump scare moments, some good actors and its not as stupid as most horror movies are, I think I counted 2 instances where it's like " just stand up and run"! Anyways never listen to anyone who tries to say their a film critic who rates every low budget fil bad because they can't think for themselves to begin with. In this day and age nobody cares about what's good, they only care about popularity, yes I'm talking about everyone at rotten tomatoes and IMDb. Just watch this movie. It's a good one!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsHow much is real and how much is fake? When you want the real thing it backfires in horrifying ways Another found footage movie that takes terror to real heights A documentary film crew runs a fake monster tv program but the director, Devon wants real monsters to deliver the scares whether people will watch or not He puts out a Craigslist ad to call actual creatures of the night 3 volunteers answer to deliver what the audience wants but it's way more than Devon and his crew bargained for These 3 individuals actually turn out to be real supernatural creatures and now Devon and his film crew have to survive the night being stalked and hunted by them There are some things we shouldn't go looking for, the devil takes many forms transcending the innocent, monsters come in all shapes and forms The scares are nicely timed, there's a good amount of blood, the creature effects are decent, and there's a pretty revealing story twist right at the very end Nothing new is added to this genre of filmmaking but for an hour and a half of action and horror combined with documentary-style techniques it's on par with most of its ilk If it's horror/monsters/found footage tv you enjoy this is right up your alley

- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI thoroughly enjoyed it. Movies don't have to be complex. The makeup was good and the monsters and jump scares were excellent!
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsA found footage movie where you actually get to see the monsters...? The hell you say! Like most films of this style it's light on plot, but the thrills come a mile a minute in this haunted funhouse of a movie. It's loads of fun.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsThis movie was amazing at the beginning and so on. It was suspenseful, scary, dramatic, it really left me on the edge of my seat. This movie just had a terrible ending. Bad movie endings can ruin the whole thing..
