The Pleasure of Being Robbed
audience Reviews
, 37% Audience Score- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsThis appears as if its a documentary show - there's little strong plot involved, its a film about a kelptomaniac. I can't say I felt sorry for the main character, she's clearly quirky and there is a sort of urban charm about it but its not a very memorable film and it was, if anything, a little too quirky for me. I wouldn't especially recommend it, no.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsFrom a confused start to... a confused rest of the film, this first for the Safdie brothers provided no more than an observational experience that simply didn't work for me. Neither immersive nor impressive, nor deep nor powerful, I felt detached from the start and could not manage to cling on to anything throughout.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsThis is a point of view that needed to be revealed - an existential look, an "it is what it is" view we can easily over-analze. These are all people to watch, we'll be seeing them again soon.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsFilm based on realism so not entertaining. Nibbles: Roasted cat pie.
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsme encanto! absolutamente recomendada!!!
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsBy the end of the movie I was asking myself why I just wasted the time watching this movie. I am a fan of indie movies and one who can enjoy the ride for just the ride and a peek into another world but this movie fails on most levels. I lost interest rather quickly in the main character and by the end I just thought she was a terrible person. This would be fine If there were anything else.. some over all message to this film or reason for watching or caring. I must have missed it. As it is I just wondered why I bothered.
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsBe Warned! Most viewers will find it to aimless, pointless and meaningless indie movie, in a lot of ways it is. But for my money this odd little film redeemed the promises of cinema; that being the ability to introduce us to people who we will never meet.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsAt first, I enjoyed how the plot consisted of following this young woman through her day-to-day activities (aka stealing) and wanted to learn more about her and why she was the way she was, but after the car theft scene the movie pretty much fell apart. Truthfully, it became plain boring. The potential was there, but the execution was not.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsThis was a pretty breezy and light-hearted film. I don't think there wasn't much to expect but overall it's a watchable movie. Eleonore Hendricks and Josh Safdie had quirky moments that I laughed with. And somehwere near the third act put a twist on Henrdick's characters little "habit". Overall, it's definitly not a movie for everyone, but anyone who enjoys independent films like myself, you'll probably have a good time.
