The Primevals

, 68% Audience Score- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsThose looking to find a lost classic will be disappointed, but it’s worth watching if only to see how films have changed over the last 30 years, both for good and bad. Personally, I was hoping for more, especially after reading about how the film was abandoned due to lack of funding until finally being completed in 2023. Some good acting and an interesting concept, but it all comes across a bit half-baked. The stop motion is decent, but honestly, any of the Sinbad films or other Harryhausen (especially Jason and The Argonauts) make this look amateurish in comparison.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsExcellent stop animation movie with a great plot..and great special effects..dates a little tricky..says 2023..but it was filmed in the 90s
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsFirst saw mention of this as a cover story in Cinefantastique Magazine. Dave Allen! One of the stop motion masters to follow in the footsteps of Ray Harryhausen? Waited since 1978 to see the finished version. Waste of time. Other than some of the stop motion, the story is an insult to Dave's Memory.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsWas this really worth waiting 50 years for? I appreciate that there's a real pathos behind seeing this to completion, that does come through in a lot of aspects. It's a labour of love. But it's objectively really silly and I can't really see someone seeking it out and enjoying it on its own merits. I'm under the impression that most of the live action was filmed in the 1990's - but even this feels like a product of 20 years ago.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsThis movie is fun if you want something to have a fun time AT, hodgepodge mess of bad ideas, everyone is a failure in there class, its hilarious but could've used a little more energy at times.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsLong Unfinished Stop Motion Movie Finally Releases 45 Years Later
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsIt's such a wonderful thing that this movie got finally released! Not only it finally makes the late David Allen's dream finally come true, but it also works as a time machine to a better time in movie history! I hope more people see it!
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsRetro wacky and not in a good way.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsJust terrible, truly unrecamendable
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsA great nod to the adventure films of Ray Harryhausen and Willis O’Brien, definitely want to get the Blu Ray when it’s out!
